In order to help troubleshoot your wiring issues, first check the connector on your RV with a circuit tester such as # PTW2979 to make sure the running lights circuit works there. Something is miswired or shorting for sure. Definitely don't want to have the steps out while moving! I have included some pictures that should help. Do your steps operate with a manual override switch? If so then it is likely that switch. If the steps are supposed to lock out or unlock automatically when the ignition is turned on then it is likely the ignition wire in one of the connectors for the steps. view full answer...
You can still use the Curt Echo Mobile brake controller part # C51180 with music playing from the phone or using it for maps. It can also make and receive phone calls as well. The reason there's a note that says it may not be ideal for if you use maps or play music from your phone is because you'd be switching between apps.
